SEATS 2l l 1 SEATS FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY MANUAL FULL WIDTH SEATS Manually operated front seat adjusters provide 4 Squeeze hooked end of seat adjuster locking fore and aft movement of the seat When the lever wire together and slide retaining spring hack over at the left seat adjuster is moved rearward the seat hump in locking wire and remove locking wire from adjusters unlock permitting horizontal travel of adjuster the seat When the seat is in the desired position and the lever released the seat is locked 5 Remove adjuster to seat bottom frame front and rear attaching bolts and remove seat adjuster from seat assembly Fig 2Hl FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY WITH SEAT ADJUSTERS ATTACHED 6 To install reverse removal procedure Check seat assembly for proper operation prior to in Removal ond Installation stalling seat assembly 1 Turn back floor carpeting where necessary NOTE The right and left seat adjuster sliding to expose seat adjuster to seat support attaching mechanisms should be in same relative position bolts Remove both driver and passenger inner when attaching adjuster to seat bottom frame seat belt floor pan attaching bolt T If adjusters do not lock or unlock satisfacto 2 Operate seat to full forward position rily when control handle on left adjuster is oper ated disengage locking wire retainer from hole in 3 At rear of adjusters remove adjuster to floor seat bottom frame and engage retainer in one of pan attaching bolts adjacent holes to obtain proper tension in wire Fig 2Hl 4 Operate seat assembly to full rearward position FRONT SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY 5 At front of adjusters loosen adjuster to floor pan attaching bolts Removal und Installation 6 With aid of helper slide seat assembly rear 1 Remove front seat assembly from body and ward until front legs of adjuster are disengaged plaee it upside down on a clean protected surface from under front attaching bolts Remove seat as sembly from body 2 Remove hog rings securing central portion of lower rear edge of seat back trim from front seat 7 To install reverse removal procedure cushion spring assembly NOTE Make certain front legs of adjusters are 3 Raise trim and remove cardboard breakover completely engaged under retaining bolts before foundation to expose seat cushion spring attachment tightening bolts ADJUSTER BOLTS l l FRONT SEAT ADJUSTERS i rtitlz jjild Q rrr i i i il Rem v I and Installatmn j i l Remove front seat assembly with adjusters LOCMNG WWE L attached from body and place upside down tm a LOCl lNG WWE clean protected surface RETAINER HOLES gi Q4 g 41 tw 2 Remove seat adjuster assist spring from ad ASSIJ PF NG a g juster to be removed Fig 2Hl HU 3 If left adjuster is being replaced remove ad juster control knob Fig 2Hl Fig 2Hl M nuo Seot Adjusters
