v I UPPER HINGE ASSY II R ICHECK PIN SCREW ASSY BRACKET SCREW I II ARM y III HINGE i j DOOR EDGE PILLAR Fig 10 36a Front Side Door Check Assembly Adjustment Door adjustment may be accomplished at two at the hinge cage to pillar Before adjustment is made on any door however the striker plate should be loosened or removed The door can be moved fore aft up and down at the hinge pillar A fig 10 37a and the door can be moved in and out at the hinge to door panel i UPPER HINGE UP ASSY FORE AFT OUT IN I DOWN CAGE NUT LOWER HINGE ASSY Fig 10 37a Front Side Door Hinges B fig 10 37a Move door as required and tighten bolts The door should have a normal clearance of 1 1 f 3 or s 3 around the entire outer lip of door except at the bottom The bottom should be 1 4 32 or 2 and front below the belt line 6 or fig 10 38a The door should be adjusted in the opening so the front portion X fig 10 38a of the door edge is in side the outer surface of the body 16 o I A X y f B A 4 WPM 4 Kl Fig 10 38a Door clearances A f6 X2 B Y4 Y32 C N6 342 Li72 Y32 J2 The rear portion of the door Y fig 10 38a should close within 1 16 of flush with the body surface at lock pillar Tighten bolts 25 35 ft lbs after adjustment and replace and adjust the door striker plate as outlined under Door Striker Plate Lock Striker Slots in striker assembly rear face provide a location for the upper striker plate which like the lower striker plate has raised beads on both sides Movable anchor plates in the pillar allow for in and out or up and down adjustment for a close fit of the door on the lock side Striker Adjustment Position the door in the opening as previously outlined NOTE Front door lock assembly installation is fixed in the door without provision for adjustment
