F 2 TRUE TRACK BRAKE DIAGNOSIS 15 9 i TRUE TRACK DIAGNOSIS I CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTION Brakes grab tire skids on city streets Mechanical condition True track system is ineffective under these below 10 mph normal to moderate conditions Check brake linings for contami heavy pedal pressure nation No brake light under any condition Burned out lamp bulb Check for cause Replace bulb I Ignition on System operates OK Blown fuse Check for cause Replace fuse Open electrical leads to brake lamp Check for continuity of leads and correct circuit accordingly Irrunediate brake light when engine Parking brake on Release parking brake is started or ignition switch is turned on Shorted parking brake switch Replace parking brake switch System OK Short in electrical lead to parking Check continuity of leads Correct as re brake switch and or brake lamp quired System OK Shorted differential pressure switch Replace switch System OK Fuse blown System inoperative Check harness and connectors for cause of blown fuse and correct Replace fuse Refer to following steps Shorted solenoid lead to ground Repair or replace harness blows fuse System inoperative Shorted solenoid blows fuse Replace Solenoid System inoperative No 12 volts at controller Faulty Check feed wire pink and connectors Cor connections or open circuit in rect as necessary wiring System inoperative Controller faulty Replace controller Brake light comes ori during a Hydraulic fluid leak Check for and correct leak in brake system stop or when brake pedal is de pressed firmly and goes off Air in brake system Check for cause and repair Bleed brakes when the brake pedal is released including bleeder screw on modulator FOR THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS it is assumed that the brake lamp circuit operates rionnally and there are no hydraulic leaks or air trapped in the brake wstem No brake light System completely V Wheel sensor quill or dust cap miss Check for cause and replace parts as neces inoperative but exercise cycle OK ing or faulty Wheel sensor not sary Ignition switch 0n or engine being driven running Speed sensor leads shorted to each Disconnect speed sensor connector s other but not shorted to ground Check resistance across speed sensor terminals Should be 10002500 ohms If out of limits replace speed sensor r 4
